Luxury expressed through restraint.
The Spinelli Kilcollin Los Angeles jewelry store project combines minimalist retail architecture with contemporary jewelry showcase presentation across approximately 170 m². Custom jewelry showcases, sculptural displays and an open circulation plan work together to create a refined environment for presenting designer jewelry.
Rather than relying on conventional decorative luxury, the store uses material contrast and carefully controlled display architecture. Black steel jewelry showcases introduce precise structural lines, while ultra-clear glass keeps the presentation visually open and allows the jewelry to remain the focal point.
Microcement surfaces provide a restrained architectural backdrop, allowing each jewelry display case to stand within the space as an individual object rather than part of a continuous row of conventional retail counters.
Design Direction
Luxury is expressed through space, proportion and material rather than ornament.

02 / Space
An open plan with a gallery-like rhythm.
The boutique allows customers to move naturally between jewelry showcases, sculptural elements and social try-on areas. Instead of creating a continuous counter barrier, the display furniture becomes part of the circulation strategy.
Freestanding jewelry display cases are given generous space around their perimeter, improving sightlines and allowing customers to approach the merchandise from different directions.
The negative space between showcases is equally important. It gives individual displays greater visual presence while reinforcing the calm, gallery-like character of the store.
03 / Display
Jewelry showcases as architectural objects.
The jewelry showcase design follows the disciplined language of the surrounding architecture. Black steel creates slim, precise outlines, while ultra-clear glass minimizes visual barriers around the displayed jewelry.
Rather than treating each showcase as an independent piece of retail furniture, the display system is integrated into the wider spatial composition through controlled proportions, material finishes and carefully considered placement.
The dark steel framework creates a defined visual frame around the merchandise without introducing unnecessary decoration. Transparent glazing keeps the jewelry clearly visible from multiple viewpoints and helps the showcases remain visually light.
Different jewelry display cases can be developed around merchandise type, store layout and viewing requirements, while SUNZEN custom jewelry showcase solutions allow dimensions, materials, glazing and lighting to follow a specific retail concept.

A restrained material palette.
Black steel, microcement and ultra-clear glass connect the jewelry showcases with the surrounding architecture, creating a consistent material language throughout the store.

04 / Experience
A more social way to experience jewelry.
Social Try-On
The dedicated try-on area creates a more relaxed relationship between customers and jewelry. Open showcases and social seating encourage viewing, conversation and product interaction beyond the traditional retail counter.
Sculptural Presentation
Art-oriented display elements reinforce the concept-store identity, allowing selected jewelry showcases and sculptural objects to feel curated within the wider interior.
Focused Lighting
Track lighting and cool white illumination keep the architecture crisp while directing attention toward jewelry and individual showcase zones.
Visual Restraint
Slim black structures, transparent glazing and generous spacing prevent the jewelry display cases from competing with the merchandise.

A different expression of luxury retail.
The Spinelli Kilcollin Los Angeles store demonstrates how jewelry showcase design can become part of the architectural identity of a retail environment rather than functioning only as display furniture.
Black steel, microcement, ultra-clear glass and sculptural presentation establish the minimal industrial character, while the showcases support open circulation through precise geometry and transparent presentation.
By coordinating showcase proportions, materials and positioning with the surrounding interior, the display remains understated while giving the jewelry greater visual presence.
